Audi has released full details on the A2 Concept, an electric revival of the previously discontinued A2 model.
Weighing just 1 150 kg, the A2 Concept EV features an Audi Space Frame (ASF) construction. It is made of aluminum with add-on parts in Carbon Fibre-Reinforced Polymer (CFRP).

Current is supplied by a lithium ion battery which drives 85 kW and 270 Nm electric motor. Continuous power, though, is rated at 59 kW and 160 Nm. The transmission is a single speed unit, which converts power to drive the front wheels. Those figures provide for a 0 – 100 km/h sprint time of 9.3 seconds and a top speed (electronically-governed) of 150 km/h.
The lithium-ion battery pack is sandwiched in the floor of the vehicle to maximize space and allows for a range of 200 km (124 miles).

The Audi A2 Concept is a drive-by-wire vehicle with the transmission, brake and steering systems all functioning by that contact-less technology. Other new technologies on the A2 Concept include the dynamic lighting across the exterior of the car as well as inside the cabin. The head- and taillights also feature LED matrix technology.
