General Motors South Africa (GMSA) announced today that it will be launching the new Trailblazer into the South African market before the end of this year.
The Trailblazer will be an all new entry for GMSA in the large Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment of the market. The Trailblazer made its global debut last year at the opening of the Dubai International Motor Show in the Middle East.
The Trailblazer is a seven-seater SUV, designed to combine the towing capability of a body-on-frame SUV with the ride comfort and efficiency of a crossover. The vehicle that went on display in Dubai featured all-wheel-drive and was powered by GM’s new 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine. Nothing more has been announced in terms of engine choices at this stage, but Malcolm Gauld, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for GMSA, has said the Trailblazer model line-up and pricing would be announced closer to the time of launch.
