Renault SA Launches Performance Dealerships

Seeking the best care for your Renault Sport? Or a Dieppe sourced race car? Renault now has six Renault Sport accredited local dealers.

Renault is re-engaging customers of their performance models with fully localised support of all Renault Sport products – even track ready race cars.

“Renault and performance have always been closely associated, and is currently best expressed by the Renault Formula 1 racing programme,” says Xavier Gobille, Managing Director of Renault South Africa.

With local sales of Dieppe sourced Renault Sport vehicles ranking seventh worldwide a decision was undertaken to up the game and provide six local Renault dealers who could retail and service the specialised Renault hot hatches. These dealerships will house the requisite technical care and skill Renault Sport models require and their customers deserve.

“These dealers will develop a Renault Sport corner in their showroom, and will have specifically trained, dedicated salespersons and technicians to provide expert Renault Sport sales and after-sales service,” Gobille promised.

The six appointed Renault Sport dealers are Route 24 Renault in Germiston, The Glen Renault in Bassonia, Renault Bryanston, Renault Durban, Renault Cape Town, and Auto Xtra Menlyn in Pretoria.

How does this translate to the road? Local Renault dealers will now be in a position to provide a wide range of accessories for the performance enthusiast previously unavailable at local dealer level.

To celebrate, two new hot hatch variants – the Clio R27 and Megane R26 special edition – are available locally in very limited numbers with rumours of a possible consignment of R26R’s! (Get more info on the R26.R here: http://www.zoopedup.com/blogs/read.aspx?id=2452 and see the video here: http://www.zoopedup.com/videos/view.aspx?id=1487.)

As mentioned, beyond the product and accessory level after sales servicing should be vastly improved, whilst an advanced driving course – venue and frequency details to be confirmed – will be offered to all Megane Sport and Clio Sport drivers.

Renault customers seeking to import and race Renault Sport manufactured race cars can now bank on Renault SA to assist with the procurement and importation of various Dieppe built factory racers.

Included in the range are the likes of the rear-wheel drive Renault Mégane Trophy, Clio Cup, Clio R3, and even Formula Renault 2.0 and Formula Renault 3.5 single-seat racers – for those who aspire to do their own Alonso impression on weekend track days.

With Renault not running a local factory racing team this new state of affairs affords local racing enthusiasts direct access to competition cars; hopefully paving the way for more Renault involvment in local production car racing – maybe in the form of Clio Cup converted race cars.

Perhaps a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive Megane Trophy with its 243kW 3.5-litre V6 for drifting fans? Or a Clio Sport R3 rally car, with its 170kW, naturally aspirated Clio Sport 2-litre engine and Clio V6 sourced airbox to bring music to the ears.

Whatever you want, if Renault Sport in Dieppe make it for sale, and you can remortgage the house to finance it, Renault can now supply and support it locally.
