Following the Coupé and Roadster, MINI has revealed another two-seater – with a twist. The MINI Clubman-based Clubvan Concept is an unlikely entry into the commercial vehicle market, and will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
Called the Clubvan, (though Breadvan may have been a more appropriate name in this case…), as you probably have guessed by now, it’s based on the Clubman. However, unlike the latter, the Clubvan study will do away with the rear seats and side windows offering a continuous loading bay stretching to the front passenger seats.
To maximise the loading space, the rear bench has been removed entirely. The rear is ?also modified with a flat loading floor featuring six attachment hoops embedded into it. These provide anchor points for bungee chords so you can secure cargo of all shapes and sizes. There’s no official figure ?for the total loading space, but MINI claims it’s ‘significantly more’ than the 930-litres offered by the Clubman with the rear seats folded down.
It is not known yet if Mini has any plans to introduce a production version, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it did since the Clubvan is nothing more than a light-commercial version of the Clubman.
