When the first photo of the Alpine Renault A110-50 surfaced earlier this week, many believed it to be just a photoshoped image of the DeZir concept. Renault has now published a number of images of its new Alpine concept sports car, ahead of its world premiere on Friday, March 25, at the Monaco Grand Prix.
Even though the Alpine A110-50′s styling is based on the DeZir, its underpinnings come from the Megane Trophy racing car. The Trophy features a tubular-frame chassis, a 265 kW, mid-mounted, 3.5-litre V6 engine and was made to take-on the Porsche GT3, so with the Alpine Renault A110-50 expected to churn out around 295 kW, it’ll certainly turn even more heads.
Renault has said that the Alpine study was created for the 50th anniversary of the original A110, but has not supplied further details, except for the 295 kW power output.
