Delivering his speech today, Trevor Manuel sited road maintenance, construction and the “heavy burden of road accidents and associated compensation claims”, as the reason for the price hikes scheduled for April 1st this year.
Come April we can expect to pay 23c and 24c respectively for general petrol and diesel levies, and 17.5c for the road accident fund levy.
