You expect certain places to have extraordinary things. Egypt has the pyramids, Rome has the Colosseum and the United States has the Grand Canyon. It now seems that Istanbul, Turkey wants to jump into the mix by offering up a 65 836 square-metre showroom that will not only be the largest in the world, but will feature an test track on the roof for prospective drivers to demo various new vehicles.
Named ‘Autopia Europia’, the facility is much more than a standard motor dealership. Featuring 200 individual showrooms, 24 banks, 48 service stations and representing over 400 brands, this structure will be more of an automotive wonderland than anything else.
Every aspect of the facility will also be accessible by car, meaning you can drive through the entire structure. From an architectural standpoint the sheer scope is mind boggling and one can’t even begin to imagine what the cost would be. If it does actually see the light of day, it will certainly put Istanbul on the map for many car fans the world over.
