Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Development Continues

The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, according to Autocar magazine, has entered its advanced stages of development, which means we know a little bit more than just rumors. Only 20 of these race-ready Lambo’s will be produced at a whopping price tag of US$2.9 million. That’s enough cash to fund at least two shopping trips with Paris Hilton.

Sesto Elemento, roughly translated, means ‘Sixth Element’ in Italian, which is referring to the extensive use of carbon fibre in its construction. This Lamborghini will be a track-only supercar, which means it will also be one incredibly expensive weekend hobby. To its credit, it will feature the Gallardo’s 5.2-litre V10 and, thanks to its carbon fibre chassis, will weigh only 998 kilograms (Gallardo weighs around 1 360 kg). With those specifications, the Elemento will be capable of speeds well over 320 km/h and a 0 – 100 km/h sprint in less than 2.5 seconds, which should out accelerate the Bugatti Veyron in a straight line.
