Facelift For 2012 Audi A5 Models

Audi is updating its A5 range, including the S5, for the the 2012 model year, bringing them in-line with the freshest faces in the family, the A6 and A7.

The front and rear fascias have both been updated, with the significant change up front being new blade-like LEDs. The front grille and bumpers have been modified, as have the air intakes.

Audi has also taken the opportunity to update the engine range, with all models now featuring turbocharged and direct-injection equipped engines. As a result, Audi claims an average drop of 11 percent in fuel consumption. All the S5 models are now equipped with the three-litre V6 TFSI with 245 kW, leaving behind the 4.2-litre aspirated V8. The V6 S5 launches to 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.9 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

The Quattro all-wheel drive models have the 7-speed S-Tronic transmission with a new central differential and torque vectoring system. The rear sports diff is available as an option and the chassis receives a revised Audi Drive Select system.
