Renault has announced plans to offer a special edition Twingo R.S. Red Bull Racing RB7.
The special edition is based on the Cup chassis, which sits 4 mm closer to the road on 17-inch ‘Gana’ alloy wheels. The special edition Twingo also features the R.S. Monitor, which shows basic telemetry data.
The special edition 2012 Twingo RS Red Bull Racing RB7 is offered in a Pearlescent Black body color that contrasts with select parts finished in Sirius Yellow, such as: the Formula 1-style front blade; the mirror caps and the roof spoiler. Inside, the cabin features gloss black accents, yellow contrast stitching and an individually-numbered “FIA 2011 World Champion” plaque on the center console.
Somewhat disappointingly, the naturally-aspirated, 1.6-litre, petrol engine remains unchanged, offering 98 kW at 6 750 r/min and 160 Nm of torque at 4 400 r/min. Fuel consumption and emissions remain correspondingly reasonable with an avergae of 6.5 L/100km and 150 g/km of CO2.
The order books for the Twingo RS Red Bull Racing RB7 special edition are set to open in June, with the vehicle being available in Germany, Austria, France, Belgium/Luxemburg, Japan, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Switzerlan. First deliveries are expected in September.
