Pure Eye Candy: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

Ferrari has released a number of photos and a couple of videos from the media launch of the new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, which was held at their Fiorano test track recently. The car hadn’t been seen much since its launch at the Geneva Motor Show back in March. That’s a long time by Internet standards, so let’s recap what the new supercar is all about…

The F12 Berlinetta replaces the Ferrari 599 and introduces what the Prancing Horse brand describes as a “new generation of Ferrari 12-cylinder supercars”. The F12 Berlinetta is powered by a 6.3-litre V12 that produces 544 kW of power and 690 Nm of torque. A massive 552 Nm is available from just 2 500 r/min. Thanks to an all-new aluminium spaceframe chassis, it tips the scales at just 1 525 kg in dry trim and is also 20 percent stiffer than the 599. The F12 Berlinetta has a 0 – 100 km/h sprint time of 3.1 seconds, will do 0 – 200 km/h in 8.5 seconds and has a top speed in excess of 340 km/h. The F12 also laps Ferrari’s Fiorano test track faster than any other Ferrari road car. At 1m23s, the F12 Berlinetta clocks in ahead of the 599 GTO (1m24s) and the Enzo (1m25s).

So now that you know just how ballistic the new F12 Berlinetta is, all that’s left to do is drool over the videos and image gallery below. Enjoy. Oh and we’re not sure if Jethro Bovingdon was on the launch – shame.
