Top Ten Automotive Brands In 2012

Toyota 86

According to Interbrand and its Automotive Global Rankings for 2012, Toyota hangs on to its top automotive brand spot with an overall brand value of US$30.2 billion. Close behind Toyota came Mercedes-Benz with a brand value of US$30.09 billion. BMW came in third with a US$29.05 billion. This is the same top three ranking as in 2010 and 2011. In fact the top six are all unchanged from 2010 to this year.

In seventh place overtaking Audi and with a valuation for the brand of US$7.4 billion, Hyundai claws its way up from eighth place. It’s the only change on the rankings since Nissan overtook Ferrari last year, proving once again how difficult genuine progress is in the automotive sector. Hyundai appears to be one company heading in the right direction.
