German tuning company TechArt are known for their work on Porsches. With the new Porsche Boxster 981 having been unveiled recently, TechArt have wasted no time in getting to work on the German sports car maker’s latest creation.
The only performance modification available at this stage is a free-er flowing exhaust muffler that incorporates valve control and which is finished off with a set of polished exhausts tailpipes machined from stainless steel. Otherwise, TechArt’s changes to the new Boxster are all about cosmetics and providing the opportunity for Boxster owners to personalise their cars.
“Our aim was to give the Porsche Boxster an even sportier expression with intelligently applied exterior components while simultaneously underlining the elegant look of the vehicle”, says TechArt’s Managing Director, Thomas Behringer.
Exterior add-ons include a two-piece front spoiler with integrated splitter, a fixed rear wing, mirror trims, crosspieces on the side air vents and subtle decorative trims on the rear diffuser. The TechArt Boxster rides on 21-inch alloy wheels in a 5-spoke design, with alternative designs also available, while the suspension has been lowered by 30 mm in front and 20 mm at the rear.
The interior of the new Porsche Boxster has already been praise highly for it’s quality, but TechArt have added a range of leather options, decorative stitching as well as carbon fibre packages. Among other customisation options, TechArt offer unique designs for the paddle shifters, steering wheel, instrument dials, aluminum sport pedals, foot rest and the door entry guards.
It’s a pretty slick looking Boxster and follows TechArt’s subtle ethos. We suspect that the German tuners will soon be announcing similar accessories for the new Porsche Cayman.
