Maserati will debut the new GranTurismo MC Stradale at the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show and here are the first images and details of their four-seater, thoroughbred, Italian sports  coupé.

Maserati say the MC Stradale version is the “optimum expression of sportiness, luxury, elegance, comfort, style, functionality and dynamism combined in the four-seater layout.”

The previous MC Stradale had the back seats taken out to save weight, rendering it only a two-seater, but now, rather sensibly, the Italians have decided to return the GranTurismo to something with more practical merits. The Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale will be built at the historic factory in Viale Ciro Menotti, in supercar-breeding Modena.

Much like the previous two-seater version, the new four-seater GranTurismo MC Stradale takes inspiration from racing versions that compete in the Maserati Trofeo Championship. The new aesthetic exterior features of this car can be spotted courtesy of a new carbon fibre and vented bonnet, which frames an all-important central air intake, two bigger exhaust pipes and new forged 20-inch alloy rims.

The previous car made 335 kW, but under the long bonnet, Maserati has confirmed a normally aspirated 4.7-litre V8 with 343 kW and 520 Nm of torque. This engine debuted in the GranTurismo Sport and now combines with an MC Race Shift 6-speed electro actuated gearbox. The sonorous engine ensures a top speed of 303 km/h and a 0 – 100 km/h sprint in the region of 4 seconds. The safety is guaranteed by the new Brembo carbon ceramic brake disk package.

No further details are known about the car, other than it looks absolutely sumptuous with the extra bits of garnish fitted to it in MC Stradale guise. We’ll bring you more news as it emerges from Geneva.
