Video: Legendary Le Mans Racers Alive And Well In Japan

Le Mans racers, such as LMP1 prototypes or homologated GT1 cars, are purpose-built for the world’s toughest 24-hour endurance race. Often they exist in less than a handful of examples for any given racing season. To acquire an ex-racing car of such calibre for a private collection is an achievement in itself. In most cases, the collectors take it upon themselves to preserve these cars for the posterity of motoring aficionados.

In Japan, however, there exist a few collectors who’ve flipped the traditional idea of preservation on its head. Between them, they own a Jaguar XJ220LM, Mazda 767B and Porsche 962C, and they drive their cars on a regular basis, including on the streets of Hiroshima!
