The 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco isn’t a brand new car, but rather a facelift that brings with it updates under the bonnet that include more powerful and efficient engines.
Exterior design cues have been taken from the latest Volkswagen Golf, such as the horizontal ‘blades’ within the front bumper, day-time running lights, as well as a redesigned rear bumper and boot lid. The wheel designs have also been carried over, as have the materials within the cabin, which has also been given additional gauges: chronometer; oil temperature and oil pressure.
The 2.0 TSI engine now delivers 162 kW, while the more potent version found in the Scirocco R matches the output of the new Golf R with 206 kW. Expect the new Scirocco in South Africa in the second half of this year.
