The 2014 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) season began on May 4th, with Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz doing battle for this year’s title. With four BMW teams contesting the championship in 2014, the Munich-based manufacturer is no doubt hoping to repeat their win of the Constructors’ and Drivers’ titles in 2012.
The new BMW M4 Coupe is expected to arrive in South Africa in the 4th quarter of the year and, while the M4 DTM has little in common with its road-going counterpart, there are strong links in the race car’s styling. The M4 DTM is powered by a naturally-aspirated 4.0-litre V8 with 358 kW and 500 Nm, weighs just 1 110 kilograms and will launch from 0 – 100 km/h in 3 seconds.
