21-Year old New Zealander Alex Kelsey claims he was “absolutely useless at school”, but he’s proven himself a proficient artisan with the unveiling of his rather serious rally car project.

Alex attached a Peugeot body onto his tubular steel frame, sourced a set of wheels from Ford’s WRC team and a brake system from across the WRC service park at Subaru. Powering the MC2 (Mad Creation 2 as it’s titled) is a Renault 3.5-litre V6 that is likely to have been sourced from a Formula Renault single-seater racing car, where it would have produced around 389 kW or 530 HP.

There is carbon-fibre and kevlar in all the right places, and then some, while it also looks like Alex hasn’t skimped on the suspension either. It’s an impressive D.I.Y project, but it can’t have been cheap.
