Three-time British Rally Champion and Isle of Man native Mark Higgins has returned to the famous 59.2 kilometer TT road course with Subaru. The pair set a new four-wheeled lap record in 2011, which gained notoriety for Higgin’s massive lock-to-lock save at 240 km/h at Bray Hill.

With the arrival of the new Subaru WRX STi, the team went back to improve on their previous 19 minute 37 seconds lap, which meant averaging faster than 184.57 km/h. The new WRX STi remains largely stock standard, apart from a few necessary safety requirements, including uprated springs and dampers in order to avoid any more surprises come the bottom of Bray Hill. This video tells us the details of the changes to the car and highlights of the 2014 record run.
