172 Cars and their teams took part in this year’s Nurburgring 24-hour race. A Mazda MX-5 campaigned by Mazda Team JOTA was entered with help from the factory as a way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the world’s best-selling roadster. Running in the V3 Class, the Mazda MX-5 was up against a swarm of Toyota 86′s, which have around 22 kW more power than the little roadster. With the sole modifications being racing shocks and springs, slick tyres, race-spec brake pads and of course FIA safety measures, the team managed to qualify 4th on the grid.
