WEC: Twin Turbo V6 for LMP1 Toyota TS050

Next month the 2016 World Endurance Championship kicks off at Silverstone and Toyota is ramping up the excitement with a video on its TS050 hybrid.

Competing in the LMP1 category where it will be up against the Porsche 919 and Audi R18, the Toyota TS050 represents possibly the biggest evolution from its predecessor; a new twin turbo V6 2.4-litre replaces the 3.7-litre V8 and yet despite the rules restricting fuel usage, the new car uses its combustion engine and higher 8MJ electric powertrain to amass 735kW. A new livery highlights the partnership between Toyota and Gazoo racing.
