Legendary Lamborghini test drive Valentino Balboni believes he can improve the sound
A new tuning company recently established by Valentino Balboni will specialise in high quality performance parts for Lamborghinis. Valentino knows his Raging Bulls having being a test driver for the Italian marque for nearly four decades and now he’s turning that knowledge into automotive works of art that should be hanging from your wall, not hidden from view inches above the tarmac.
Starting off as a mechanic, Balboni’s talents as a test driver were later discovered and it is believed that he’s piloted around 80 per cent of new models during his career. The rear-wheel drive Gallardo LP550-2 has a special edition model named after him.
Valentino’s company called VB has finished it’s first masterpiece; a titanium exhaust for the Lamborghini Aventador LP 550-4 SuperVeloce and it’s special because it weighs around 6 kilograms and requires 350 hours to manufacture. These rarefied exhaust systems will be limited to 30 examples and don’t be offended if Valentino doesn’t call you first – the list will be very exclusive.
VB describes it as a “new dimension of sound – some horrible Italian to English translation that doesn’t fill us with confidence – and there are no horsepower figures as a guarantee of money well spent.
