Ferrari FXX Evoluzione

It is the ultra exclusive version of the ultra exclusive supercar based on another ultra exclusive supercar.

The Ferrari FXX is the most advanced GT car ever to come out of Maranello and it has been updated with the Evoluzione package. The Ferrari FXX Evoluzione is powered by a 6.2-litre V12 engine that now develops 640kW at 9500 rpm. Changing gears takes 60ms, a drop of 20ms on the previous time. The Ferrari FXX Evoluzione has revised gear ratios that have been adapted to make use of an extra 1000 rpm that are now delivered by the engine.

The Ferrari FXX is not homologated for road use and there are no plans to compete with it either. In special projects like this Ferrari doesn’t go looking for customers. Instead it takes applications and chooses the lucky few from their exclusive client list.

The Ferrari FXX Evoluzione package includes participation in a series of track events that Ferrari is organising at international circuits for 2008/2009. Six events are planned for each year (two in North America, two in Europe and two in Asia). In addition to these, the Ferrari FXX’s will also be participating, as per tradition, in the prestigious end-of-season Ferrari World Finals. The cars will be backed up at each event by a 15-member official team made up of engineers, electronics experts and mechanics capable of providing complete assistance to clients.

This exclusivity has its price though and the FXX Evoluzione is reported to cost about US$2.8 million.
