You’re probably really jealous of those lucky few driving around in a Bugatti Veyron. Well, once you figure out how much it costs to maintain one, you won’t be that disappointed.
You may think that those lucky guys driving the Veyron can very well afford the operating cost of the supercar, but when you hear stories of one Veyron owner who has his trailered to his favorite road while he follows in an executive jet since it’s cheaper – you start to get a little curious.
A routine service for a Veyron reportedly costs a whopping £12 866 (R160 825), whereas an annual service for a Ferrari Enzo is £1680 (R21 000). A set of new tyres will set you back £23 500 (R293 750), and that’s because they have to be capable of handling a top speed of 407 km/h. Every fourth tyre change, the Veyron’s wheels must be replaced, leaving you with a bill of £7 050 (R88 125) per wheel!
Feel better? Good. So do we.

Thank God America Socialized GM(America) with huge government money! We will never have to fear such automotive folly from Chevrolet! As for the Gifted few in their gilded cages that do have Veyrons and the like, China’s Tsinghua University has developed a super high efficiency “Pebble Bed” reactor! Huge outputs for a smaller amount of fuel input and a given waste generation! This will make Hydrogen the fuel of choice in America, not oil! This will starve out the oil barons and their ilk! This will happen over the next few decades as Asians compete for remaining but finite world oil resources, driving prices for oil beyond what Yankee Doodle can pay – Hydrogen from Pebble Bed reactors will become cheaper than gasoline! Yankee Doodle will switch, the great multi-cylinder gasolines engines will become obsolete, and the oil barons will die off in obscurity!(We hope). Great “Pebble Bed” reactors will furnish electricity for the up and coming electric bullet train networks in the U.S. as they do now for China’s up and running hedge against high priced oil in short supply! Even lowly Europe has well established train networks, and remember: Trains are a full 400% more efficient than rubber-wheeled transport – hence much cheaper! Veyrons will join the huge radial gasoline aircraft engines and old Harley Davidson’s in the museums, Americans will be freed up from oppressive oil bills and freedom will once again reign supreme!
