The 2011 Audi A8 isn’t even available in the South Africa yet, but German tuners have already got hold of it. The first modded A8 comes from tuner shop ABT Sportsline. They’re calling it the AS8.
The new A8 already looks like the old A8 after a year of hard training. Slimmed-down, muscular, with that huge front grille that looks like it could swallow you whole, it’s a good base for ABT to start with. But ABT has turned it into a bloodthirsty vampire in an Armani suit.
ABT used a diesel version of the flagship sedan, to which they added a front splitter, lower side sills and new tailpipes. They set the car on 21-inch wheels and opted for a glossy black finish. Naturally ABT have given their AS8 a power upgrade to the tune of 27 kilowatts. Being a diesel we’re more interested to know the improvement in the AS8′s torque figure, but alas ABT have not released details.
The tuning firm claim the car’s 0 – 100 km/h sprint time is now down to just 5.0 seconds – quick enough to smoke the S4 lined up next to you at the traffic light, while surrounded by acres of leather and a nineteen speaker sound system.
