The Fastest Ferrari Enzo Ever?

There’s an unspoken rule that modifying a limited edition hypercar is akin to defacing a work of art. However, on rare occasions there can be a sensible reason for the otherwise unthinkable.

Take Richard Losse for example, who wrote off his Ferrari Enzo in the Utah Fast Pass Rally – a kid of “pay to play” event where the roads are closed to the greater public, in order for a few fast cars to have a bit of fun. Faced with a car which would be worth just a fraction of what it was, even if returned to its former glory, Richard decided to turn it in to a Bonneville Salt Flats Racer.

Fully rebuilt, the Enzo now boasts narrow tyres that sit flush with the wheelarches to help it dig into the Bonneville landscape. Twin-turbochargers give the Enzo a longer set of legs and the nose has been re-profiled to make sure it doesn’t unexpectedly take flight at high speed. The twin-turbo’s are said to help generate around 625 kW with a moderate level of boost, although winding them up a bit more will unleash closer to 735 kW.

The ‘Bonneville Enzo’ is expected to take to the Flats this weekend, at the end of the annual sacrament to speed, known as ‘Speed Week’ at Bonneville.
