South Africa’s popular passenger car, the Polo Vivo, now offers even better value in the entry level segment. From September 2010, the entire Polo Vivo range includes air conditioning as standard, except the entry-level 2-door 55 kW hatchback. Since the Vivo was launched in March, competitors like the Chevrolet Spark and Ford Figo have arrived on the scene and cast a shadow over the Polo Vivo with keener pricing and spec levels. With the addition of an air conditioner as standard – previously a R7 950 cost option – Volkswagen hope to entrench themselves at number one on the sales charts.
Mike Glendinning, Director Sales & Marketing, VWSA, says ”The inclusion of air conditioning as standard throughout the range should make the Polo Vivo proposition to South African motorists even more enticing.”
