Lamborghini has added another model to its growing list of special edition cars, this time in the form of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain Limited Edition.
Developed as an homage to the Super Trofeo one-make Gallardo racing series, sponsored by watchmaker Blancpain, this new edition is powered by the same 5.2-litre V10 engine that drives the racing version and the Gallardo Superleggera.
Producing 425 kW and 540 Nm of torque, the 1340 kg Blancpain rockets to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, and the speedometer will touch 200 km/h in just 10.2 seconds. Top speed is just over 320km/h (200 mph).
On the styling front, the Gallardo Blancpain features a vented engine cover and a track-inspired (and highly functional) rear wing. Skorplus wheels feature at each corner, in front of big carbon-ceramic brakes.
Lamborghini has yet to announcing pricing, numbers, or a launch date for the Blancpain, but unless the quantity is significant, don’t expect to see one on the streets of South Africa.
