Suzuki Tease Production S-Cross Crossover

After debuting the Suzuki S-Cross Concept at last year’s Paris Motor Show, Suzuki are now teasing what will be the world premiere of the production version of its S-Cross crossover at the Geneva International Motor Show, in March. We guess you can think of it as a replacement of the Suzuki SX4.

After pulling out of the U.S. last year due to poor sales, the Japanese carmaker is understandably expectant and, at the same time, cautious over revealing such an important volume-selling new car. Suzuki are keeping many details to themselves at this stage, including the official name of the crossover and the powertrain options, but it did confirm the crossover will have an all-wheel drive option.

Speculation also says we can expect Suzuki to offer a new diesel engine for the first time, after the latter’s sourcing of diesel technology from Fiat as part of their burgeoning partnership. What we can tell you is that in concept guise, the crossover measured just over 4 metres long, 1.8 metres wide and 1.6 metres tall, making it 160 mm longer, 85 mm wider but also 20 mm lower than the AWD version of the Suzuki SX4.

With the official production version looking very faithful to the S-Cross Concept design, when it does make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, we’ll bring you all the details of Suzuki’s Nissan Qashqai and Hyundai ix35 rival.
