Volkswagen has revealed the latest of its family styling updates with the facelifted 2011 Eos. Scheduled for its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, the 2011 Eos is almost the last of Volkswagen’s models to transition to the new family face. Only the Passat CC, the ‘New’ Beetle and the European-market Fox still carry the company’s outgoing design language.

With its new letterbox grille, headlights, taillights and bumpers, the Eos joins the updated 2011 Passat as one of the few models in the Volkswagen line to benefit from a major styling update without moving directly to ‘all-new’ status.

While the exterior has been significantly updated, the Eos’ interior remains largely as it did, with the main changes coming in the form of revised air-conditioning controls and a new multi-function display. Depending on the trim grade, the 2011 Eos also gains keyless locking and ignition and a remote control function for the retractable hard-top.

The 103 kW 2.0 litre TDI engine also benefits from the addition of Volkswagen’s BlueMotion technology and start/stop technology, reducing urban fuel consumption to 4.8 l/100km (from 5.4 l/100km).
