Award season is kicking into high gear as the finalists for the World Car of the Year awards have been announced.
In the prestigious category of World Car of the Year, contenders include the Audi A8, BMW 5-Series, and Nissan Leaf.
Next up, the finalists for World Performance Car of the Year are the Ferrari 458 Italia, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Porsche 911 Turbo.
Candidates for World Green Car of the Year include the BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Edition, the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan LEAF.
Lastly, the contenders for World Car Design of the Year are the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Aston Martin Rapide and Ferrari 458 Italia.
A panel of 66 jurors will vote for the winners in each category and the results will be announced on Thursday, April 21 at the New York Auto Show.
