TeamSpeed spies have been at it again. Yesterday we brought you their spy shots of the Audi RS4 Avant and today we have spy-shots of the upcoming 2012 Porsche Boxster.
The next-generation Porsche Boxster, known internally at Porsche as the 981, was caught testing at the Nurburgring where it revealed its new LED taillights – a triangular design similar to the next 911. The new Boxster may come with a new four-cylinder engine. Porsche’s outgoing head of research and development, Wolfgang Durheimer, confirmed that the automaker was developing a 2.5-litre power plant that could possibly be seen in the 2012 Boxster and Cayman models. The new engine could have an output of up to 265 kW in a turbocharged configuration.
