Ford South Africa has launched their Ford Ranger Challenge, the start of an online initiative that gives South Africans the opportunity to win an all-new Ranger by testing the vehicle in the toughest possible conditions.
Members of the public are invited to enter the competition by submitting what they believe to be the ultimate challenge for the all-new Ranger, with three lucky finalists being selected to put the truck through its paces in tough real world situations.
“All around the world and especially in South Africa, Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) owners are putting their vehicles through their paces, pushing them hard every day. Whether they are working the farms, taking on dirt-roads, battling dense bush, or taking to the city, we understand South African’s rely on their trucks,” says Ford Marketing Manager, Ben Pillay. “We want to show exactly what the all-new Ranger can do so we’re putting it in the hands of the people who know best how to test the car to its limits.”
An all-new Ranger will be handed over to each of the three finalists for a period of ten days. During this time, each of the finalists will carry out their nominated challenge, which will be captured in a two-minute video clip. Footage of each finalists’ challenge will then be uploaded to www.fordrangerchallenge.co.za for the general public to vote on throughout October and November 2011.
The winner, to be announced in November 2011, will be the finalist who would have received the greatest number of public votes. The winner’s prize will be a New Ford Ranger 3.2 TDCi 4×2 Manual XLT Double Cab.
