New Kia Ray Exclusively For South Korea

South Korea’s Hyundai-Kia Group continues to churn out new models like there’s no tomorrow. The Kia Ray is an all-new city car from the South Korean manufacturer. If you like what you see, we’ve got bad news for you: the Ray is not coming to South Africa and will be sold exclusively in its domestic market.

The Kia Ray looks a little like a cross between a Kia Picanto and a Kia Soul, combining a cute face with a boxy body. At the front, the Ray features Kia’s signature grille along with bold headlights and LED daytime running lights. The chunky wheel arches give the rear a wide stance, which is emphasised by the vertical reflectors and uniquely shaped LED taillights.

One of the highlights of the new Ray is the sliding passenger-side rear door, that promises to enable easier entry and exit in tight parking spaces, as well as to provide room for bulky cargo. The Kia Ray features a regular rear door on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Kia adds that its new tall city car has a highly versatile interior space for both passengers and cargo.

Kia will confirm the Ray’s powertrain and performance details closer to its launch.
