MG has released the first pictures of the 2013 MG5 prior to its market launch in China.
As you can see, it’s a striking looking five-door hatchback with dramatic headlights and head-turning creases down the wings and a sloping roofline that ends in a tailgate-mounted spoiler.
There is little in the way of official information on the new car, but the Chinese market model, which goes on sale very soon, will have a 1.8-litre petrol engine producing around 78 kW. In Europe, a variety of petrol units will be offered with displacements expected to range from 1.0- to 1.5-litres. They could produce between 86 kW and 121 kW. The MG5 will also be tuned for UK roads, with different suspension settings and the interior will also receive more upmarket levels of trim.
