Renault used an annual shareholders meeting that was held last week to reveal a teaser image for the upcoming fourth-generation Clio, with the photo showing us the rear quarter of the car.
The heavily cropped rear three-quarter image – first published by French website blogautomobile – reveals the new Clio’s delicate taillight design, muscular rear wheel arches and discreet rear door handles concealed in the C-pillars.
The new Renault Clio is expected to make its world premiere at the 2012 Paris International Motor Show in September. The new iteration of the French supermini will sport a more chic exterior look while Renault sources state that the interior will boast a more emotional design as well as higher perceived quality with better materials. It will be lower and wider than the outgoing third-generation model, and as much as 100 kg lighter, bringing its weight closer to 1000 kg.
The Clio 4 will launch with downsized turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, including an efficient 900 cc petrol unit with around 66 kW of power. Further down the line, Renault will introduce a high-performance replacement for the RS model.
