Volkswagen CC R-Line Announced

Volkswagen’s revised 2012 CC has joined the growing list of models to offer R-Line sports styling packaging in Europe.

While the new 2012 Volkswagen CC has already been given a sharper look, the R-Line version gains a more aggressive front bumper, larger air intakes and projector-style fog lights with chrome surrounds. Side skirts, shaded taillights, unique 18-inch wheels and R-Line badges round out the CC R-Line’s exterior changes.

Inside, the CC R-Line is distinguished by stainless-steel R-Line scuff plates and paddle shifters behind the DSG’s multifunction steering wheel.

The R-Line model retains all of the CC’s features, some of which include bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, LED license-plate illumination, rain-sensing windshield wipers, Climatronic automatic climate-control as well as heated 12-way power front seats.

Despite its sporting pretensions, the CC R-Line will be offered exclusively with VW’s 155 kW 2.0-litre TSI engine rather than the more powerful 3.6-litre V6. However, buyers will have the option of either a six-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

VW has yet to announce pricing for the CC R-Line, but as with other R-Line packages, there are no confirmed plans to offer these enhancements in South Africa, however, Volkswagen South Africa product marketing manager, Hein Schafer, told SACarFan a few months ago that he’d been in touch with Volkswagen R GmbH to discuss the availability of the various R-Line kits locally.
