Thanks to some handy spy photography, we have the first images of the 2014 Nissan R35 GT-R caught testing at the Nurburgring this week. The Nissan GT-R is gearing up for another 2014 facelift as part of its on-going evolution process.
The current generation Nissan R35 GT-R, which we drove earlier this year, has been on sale since January and these new pictures show the Japanese automaker giving its latest model a subtle makeover that includes changes to the headlights and front bumper.
The prototype visible in the pictures has very little camouflage, displaying a rear that is expected to feature the same taillights but could carry some modifications to the rear three quarter panels.
Far more important than how it looks is what the 2014 Nissan R35 GT-R will be carrying under the bonnet. Currently the 2012 / 2013 NIssan GT-R is powered by its 3.8 litre twin-turbo V6, sporting 397 kW. The updated 2014 model is reportedly going to produce upwards of 425 kW.
We hope that is the case and that it sets a Nurburgring lap time that is quicker than ever. The current 2013 Nissan R35 GT-R holds an unofficial lap time of 7:21:00. Nissan say they hope to slash that to 7:14:00 with the 2014 model.
