2013 Mazda3 Design Renderings Leaked

2013 Mazda3 Digital Rendering

We have our first look at the 2013 Mazda3 thanks to design renderings that were leaked on to the Internet this week. Mazda UK says these are digital renderings to show the car’s Kodo design language, but even so, combined with what we know of the Mazda CX-5 and Mazda6, we can get an idea of how the car will look.

The Mazda3 will continue to be available in 4-door sedan and 5-door hatch and, as we can see, is heavily influenced by the new styling we’ve seen in the Mazda6. The front end features the same enlarged five-point grille and chrome trim that links the headlights.

Expect the new 2013 Mazda3 to employ the full suite of SkyActiv technologies for maximium efficiency in the areas of chassis, weight-saving, aerodynamics and the car’s drivetrain. Engines are likely to be shared with the new CX-5 and Mazda6, meaning a 2.0- and 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder, petrol engine or 2.2-litre turbo-diesel will be available. The Mazda3 could also be the car used by Mazda to launch their new rotary-powered, range-extender technology, which is expected in 2013.
