2013 Toyota Rav4 New Images Leaked

This is the etiquette of international motor shows. Whether by hook or by crook, a set of images of an upcoming car always gets leaked to the press just a day or two before the manufacturer goes official with the unveiling. It’s become the ‘norm’ to try and sneak in some press for the car prior to the hubbub of the motor show, where all the attention gets lavished on the exotic supercars.

The scenario is no different with this week’s LA Auto Show and the new Toyota Rav4. A set of leaked images have revealed Toyota’s newest version of its stalwart SUV; with a sharpened snout that keeps it in-line with new face of the Auris and Yaris; as well as a look at the new cabin which looks very much inspired by the designs we welcomed on the new Yaris earlier this year.

As expected, the new RAV4 has picked up the look of hooked headlights with a handsome, deep-V grille design and harder-edged, more aggressive fenders from its Auris sibling. At the rear, the new model’s lights extend into the tailgate, while a low-cut bumper gives wide and deep loading access to the tailgate.

Inside, the RAV4 gets a less utilitarian and more upmarket makeover, revealing a two-tiered dash layout, a large centre console with a widescreen display, and a number of subtle chrome highlights in the details. Engine options are expected to include the regular pair of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines and the end of the six-cylinder petrol model. Yes we know it’s all a game to get our attention but the new-look Rav4 looks good, and more images and official information will be available shortly. We’ll bring it to you as it happens.
