Isn’t it funny how after you’ve experienced a car for the first time, you can’t help but take a more vested interest in it? After our first-ever drive in a Lamborghini Gallardo last week, we’ve found this news story of a bunch of North American tuners who can gave the pre-facelift Gallardo Spider a ‘Performante’ look.
The might sound a little irrelevant to your average bloke in the street, but when it comes to a supercar owner, to drive around in a last generation, look-at-me supercar, is a little embarrassing not so? That’s why the older ones need an upgrade to keep them looking fresh.
The SR Auto Group has revealed a Lamborghini Gallardo Spider they recently fitted with a Hamann body kit. The tuners out of Canada have named the car the ‘Project Mastermind’. The Hamann body kit features a front spoiler, a carbon-fibre front splitter, Hamann side skirts and a Hamann rear lower spoiler.
For the wheels, SR Auto went to ‘PUR Wheels’ fitting the Gallardo with PUR 2WO monoblock wheels sizing 20-inches front and back. They come with a modern matte black finish to complement the various black accents on the roof, hood and grilles. The final touch comes in the form of the go-faster stripes, or ‘Gallardo Performante’ decals over the front of the car, that stretch back towards the engine cover.
Sure, it’s only an aesthetic makeover with a fixed rear spoiler like the Performante and a few extra horses from the V10 to match that of the Performante would’ve been nice too, but we’re all about the preservation of Lamborghini Gallardos now. Keep at them lads.
