Hyundai Elantra Bisimoto Concept Boasts 441 kW

Californian tuner Bisimoto Engineering, has worked with the Korean brand to create a heavily modified version of their Elantra GT model.

With just 110 kW in standard form, the Elantra’s 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine has been thoroughly reworked to produce a McLaren 12C-equalling 441 kW. The massive power has been achieved with extensive modifications that include: custom steel connecting rods; injectors; camshafts; an intake gasket and a Turbonetics turbocharger. The Bisimoto concept also uses iridium spark plugs, a Spearco intercooler, Arias forged pistons and has fitted an air/fuel gauge with fail-safe mechanism to save the engine should the ratio become too lean.

Hedi Kim, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Bisimoto Engineering, said: “When the Elantra GT was introduced by Hyundai, we knew it would be a perfect platform for us to showcase our tuning prowess.” Kim continued, “With our experience in forced induction and small-displacement engines, we focused on raw horsepower with this SEMA concept. We think the final product is a great example of just what can be achieved with turbocharging and engine tuning in the present day.”

The tuner also added a custom bodykit, high-performance clutch, coilover suspension with remote reservoir shocks, as well as 18-inch wheels. The interior has been given a set of racing seats and harnesses, a race-spec LCD instrument cluster and a roll cage.
