Many consider the sound a pitch perfect, Italian, engine makes as something ‘musical’. No engine note more so than the evocative sound created by the Ferrari-built V8 from a Maserati Quattroporte GTS. Maserati have decided to harness their new cars vocal talent and settle the issue of whether; “an engine note can be music?”
By partnering with their new sound system provider, Bowers & Wilkins, they have created a song with seven notes from the Maserati Quattroporte GTS’s V8. The song is simply called ‘Seven Notes’ and it was made in collaboration with musician ‘Howie B’ (previous producer for Björk and U2) and the Top Gear U.K. sound recordists who captured the distinct notes from the engine, at the world famous Abbey Road Studios in London.
The Maserati Quattroporte is the Italian manufacturer’s first model to feature an integrated Bowers & Wilkins in-car audio system. And the ‘Seven Notes’ song will go on a world tour to seven major cities around the world. The first event was held in Dubai this week and SACarFan had the pleasure of attending.
Visiting Dubai, Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York and London, plus a special Vogue tribute event during Men’s Fashion Week in Milan, ‘Seven Notes Tour’ will encompass an exclusive live performance of the track by Howie B. And the track is available for download exclusively at www.sevennotes.com.
The Maserati Quattroporte features fifteen Bowers & Wilkins speaker units, built into the cabin’s internal architecture, strategically placed to offer a listening experience which is both rich and exciting. Featuring HARMAN’s QuantumLogic signal processing and Auravox equalisation, ensuring that wherever you sit, you’ll have the same listening experience. Experience the song for yourself and let us know what you think.
