The BMW M4 Coupé Concept has been shown ahead of its Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance debut this week. For all intents and purposes, what we see here is the production-ready BMW M4 (F32) and successor to the current BMW M3 (E92).
Making a statement in an exclusive ‘Aurum Dust’ colour, the M4 Coupé Concept holds an aggressive pose with large air inlets and aggressive front bumper, bonnet power bulge, vented front fenders, 20-inch alloy wheels and a dramatic rear diffuser with quad-exhausts. CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced plastics) elements such as the front splitter, the roof, or the rear diffuser mark the lightweight and performance attitude of the sports coupé.
“At BMW M, design is above all an expression of function. Each design element is based on the underlying technical demands of the BMW M high performance concept. Thanks to this authenticity, the design provides a taste of what can be experienced with each model: Power, precise control and superior handling – an unforgettable driving experience on the racetrack as well as on the road” says Adrian van Hooydonk, head of BMW Group Design.
BMW remains tight lipped as to what’s beneath the power bulge on the bonnet. Previous reports have suggested a version of the companies twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six that will produce 335 kW and 550 Nm of torque.
