Opel Astra Sedan Coming To South Africa Soon

General Motors South Africa (GMSA) has announced the imminent arrival of the all-new Opel Astra sedan. With the Opel Astra range currently a hatchback-only affair, the company is hoping the four-door Astra will find wide spread appeal on its return.

The Opel design team have given the new Astra sedan a sleek silhouette thanks to a gently arching roofline that flows into the rear window area and ends in a sculpted boot spoiler a top the rear deck. The far reaching C-pillar also helps to mask the enormity of the boot, which swallows 460-litres, or 1 010-litres with the rear seats folded down. By comparision, the sedan offers 90-litres more cargo area than the Astra hatch.

Inside, Opel says the sedan retains the same look, feel and levels of quality as that of the hatchback. Similarly, the hatch’s features will be carried over too, such as Advanced Forward Lighting (AFL+) with bi-xenon headlamps, the adaptive FlexRide chassis system and infotainment systems.
