Video: The Story Of The Shelby GT 350

In 1964, Ford’s Vice President, Lee Iacocca, called up Carroll Shelby and asked him to create a Ford Mustang race car. Shelby replied that he thought it was a “secretary’s car” and that he didn’t think such a thing could be done. Iacocca wasn’t deterred though and suggested tearing out the rear seats, upgrading the suspension and brakes, and dropping a hotted-up V8 into the engine bay. The rest, as they say, is history.
