Two very handy drivers in the form of Chris Harris and ex-F1 and DTM driver David Coulthard, were invited to hustle a 1961 Mercedes-Benz 220 around the Nurburgring Nordschleife recently. On the face of it, it might seem like a lot of fun, and it was, but for reasons other than the competition. With barely 100 kW available and 1.4 tons to cart around, the Fintail was never going to be at the sharp end of the field, however, the drivers never expected it to be 20 seconds off their nearest rival. It turns out to be a comedy of an event for the team and we have a sneaking suspicion that Coulthard may not have been all that disappointed with the final result.
