With the BMW 4 Series Coupe recently launched in South Africa, BMW has shown off some M Performance parts overseas that promise to quell the lack of a BMW M4 performance coupe, for the mean time anyway, before the M4 arrives next year. The BMW 4 Series images you see here have a full complement of M Performance parts bolted to them to give the ultimate M Performance street cred you can muster for your BMW 4 Series Coupe. This basically previews what the upcoming BMW M4 Coupe will look like. The bespoke M Performance parts are exclusive to the 4 Series and include a couple of very distinctive cosmetic upgrades, an M Performance sports interior package, and even a few performance modifications.
These aesthetic upgrades come in the form of M bumpers, a gorgeous carbon fibre front splitter, rear spoiler and rear diffuser aerodynamic combo. The carbon fibre doesn’t end there because there are carbon covered wing mirrors, carbon stripes on the lower side skirts, carbon on the darkened grilles, and the requisite cacophony of M Performance badges and graphics. We’ve seen this before from M Performance and the BMW 4 Series gets a racing car-inspired steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and leather, featuring the M Race display like you get on a Ferrari 458 Italia, telling you when to change up a gear. Sport pedals are also included and the carbon fibre trimmings continue on the inside of the BMW 4 Series with the centre console and dashboard covered in it, along with more alcantara on the seats and dashboard.
More importantly, M Performance also means that the new 4 Series will be given the option of a limited-slip differential in addition to an uprated suspension, upgraded brakes, 20-inch M wheels, and sport exhaust system for more aural pleasure. The BMW 4 Series M Performance package will become available as a complete body kit (as pictured), but customers can acquire parts individually.
