The 2014 Toyota Aygo has been revealed at the Geneva Motor Show. Eye-catching and with a wealth of personalisation options, Toyota say their new Aygo is fun to drive and remains true to the original supermini’s qualities of being compact, nimble, reliable and affordable to run.
The 2014 Aygo is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, petrol engine, with 51 kW at 6 000 r/min and 95 Nm at 4 300 r/min. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard fare and Toyota claim average fuel consumption of 4.1 l/100km and CO2 emissions of 95 g/km.
The car is slightly larger in overall length (25 mm) and front headroom (7 mm), while also catering for an extra 29-litres of cargo space over the previous model. A new 7-inch touch-screeen infotainment system has been added to the interior, which also includes a rear parking camera. However, Toyota South Africa have yet to confirm specification levels for the car locally.
