The Volkswagen Golf R 400 is getting quite a lot of attention as the most powerful Golf ever conceived. It made its public debut at the Beijing Motor Show in April, but has been wheeled out at various events across the globe since. Recently the concept was spotted being loaded onto a transporter, allowing for some more close-up footage and sound from the 2.0-litre TFSI’s twin-exhaust pipes.
With 294 kW and 450 Nm of torque, if the R 400 were to make it to production, it would surely see off the likes of the Merc A45 AMG, the upcoming BMW M2 and we’d expect it’d have a direct competitor in the form of a new Audi RS3.
